CoNext Climate Preparedness Hub is a free, 4-month training program designed to build climate resilience in small, rural, and remote communities in BC. This program provides Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities with the skills, tools, and support needed to develop and implement effective climate adaptation strategies.
26 communities from across BC participated in the first two years of the program, with representation from First Nations, local governments, regional districts, and community organizations. The third year of CoNext, kicking off in September 2026, will build on this success and continue to support small communities in their climate preparedness journeyCoNext is now accepting Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Year 3 of the program.

Eligible Community
Primary applicant must be a municipality, regional district or First Nation community.
Description of Funding
CoNext is 100% free, with an estimated value of $10,000 - $15,000. The main investment for your community is time and effort, which includes:

Assembling a diverse team for participation

Attending an interview with the project team to ensure you’re set up for success

Committing to attend all sessions and coaching calls throughout the program

Developing and presenting a short-term action plan at the end of the program
