The FNCEBF aims to promote increased Indigenous community participation in the clean energy sector within their asserted traditional territories and treaty areas through agreements between the BC Government and the eligible applicant to:
- Equity Funding: Provides funding to qualifying applicants to support capital costs related to the implementation of community energy efficiency and demand-side management projects within their community. Potential help acquire equity positions in clean energy projects or in the construction of renewable energy project.

Indigenous governing body, however organized and established by Indigenous peoples, including Modern Treaty Nation.

Specific Eligibility Requirements
- Must be for community benefit.
- One active project at any given time.
- Any number of applications for a project may be submitted up to the maximum thresholds for each revenue stream.
- All applications must be accompanied by a Band Council Resolution, Tribal Council Resolution or Directors’ Resolution approving the project.
