The Cultural Infrastructure program supports creation of, or the improvement of, arts, heritage, culture and creative innovation spaces. This program improves the access to, and quality of, professional arts and cultural facilities for residents and tourists alike.
Although the focus of NDIT programs is economic development, programs can also support community goals related to clean energy and adaptation. 

Eligible Community

All applicants must be located within Northern Development’s service region.

  • Registered First Nations Bands
  • Wholly Owned First Nation Development Corporations

Type of funding

  • Grant

Range of funding available per project

  • Up to $100,000
  • From $100,000 to $1,000,000

Description of funding

Up to $100,000 grant to a maximum of 70% of the eligible project budget; or
Up to $300,000 grant to a maximum of 50% of the eligible project budget
The types of project that may be eligible include, but are not limited to:
• Museums
• Art Galleries and studios
• Heritage sites
• Performing art centres
• Interpretive centres
