Aligned with the BC Energy Step Code, the Indigenous Communities New Home Program provides up to $20,000 per unit to support the design and construction of building energy efficient homes using a FortisBC energy source. Additional rebates are also available for installing qualifying, energy efficient appliances such as natural gas fireplaces, drain water heat recovery systems and more.

An Energy Advisor (EA) works with you to maximize the efficiency of your project and completes the reporting required to apply for the Step Code rebate of up to $13,000. Also, for Step Code 3, 4 or 5, up to $7,000 per home is available to cover the consulting fees of Integrated Design Process (IDP) consultants and/or a mechanical design specialist on individual homes.
