HSP accepts applications throughout the year through a continuous intake process.
The exception is the new multi-plex category, where applications are accepted through a call letter process.
First Nations are encouraged to include their housing priorities in their annual First Nations Infrastructure Investment Plan (FNIIP).

The Housing Support Program (HSP), provides a subsidy towards supporting BC First Nations on-reserve housing priorities for new construction (single family/duplexes), regular and health and safety renovations, energy efficiency, and multi-plex new construction.
Multi-plexes are defined as “a building consisting of three (3) or more separate units comprising of a single foundation and roof, whether a one-story or multi-story structure”.
It also provides funding allocation in support of enhancing housing governance and capacity, up to a maximum of $100k

Specific Eligibility Requirements
The application must include a completed application form, including, but not limited to Band Council Resolution (BCR), scope of work, BC BOABC certified inspector assessments for regular renovations, contractor estimates/quotes for new builds and renovations, proof of financing from other sources, and health and safety renovations must include a First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) health assessment.

All approvals are subject to available ISC funding and the scope of the project. Approved projects will be required to provide progress and completion reports.

Description of Funding
HSP supports BC First Nations through a subsidy allocation for two funding streams:
• Governance and Capacity Application • Housing Support Program (HSP) – project application• Subsidy amounts vary for a number of factors, including but not limited to: • Activities being requested through the applications i.e.: policy development, planning, training, new construction, renovations, energy efficiency, and new construction multi-plex;• Geographical location of communities i.e.: Zones 1 to 4; and• Available ISC funding levels.
Subsidies are inclusive of building inspection costs and site preparation.
